**The team you'll be part of**
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The regional product management team - Optical Networks APAC is the key interface to local sales and pre sales teams as well as global product management and R&D teams. They are responsible for understanding customer pain points and requirement, and translating them into product features and deliverables.
This team is highly skilled in their technology domain, highly engaged and passionate about Optical networks, autonomous and accountable for their domain.
**What you will learn and contribute to**
Are you passionate about solving problems?
As part of our team, you will:
- Provide expert level advanced optical design support, including terristrial and Subsea DWDM, OTN etc.
- Provide expert level support on the relevant DWDM or OTN product portfolio
- Understand and analyse market trends with respect to Optical transport technology and translating these trends into potential new products and features
- Translate customer requirements into product features
- Translate product features into customer needs, solving complex business problems
- Travel around the APAC region supporting local pre sales and sales teams with customer meetings and workshops
**Your skills and experience**
You have:
- Minimum 3 years experience in optical network design
- Deep understanding of key optical technologies such as DWDM, OTN, GMPLS and associated network architectures
- Previous working knowledge with Optical networks design and planning tools (EPT, WavePlanner from Nokia Portfolio)
It would be nice if you also had:
- knowledge of packet optical technologies (Carrier Ethernet/Provider Bridging, MPLS-TP)
- Understanding of layer 3 technologies, IP addressing schemes,
- undersatanding of key concepts related to Open networking and disaggregated architectures
- Product management or pre sales experience
- presentation skills, influencing internal and external stakeholders
