Associate Librarian (kidsREAD), Programme & Services
[What you will be working on]
- Develop new partnerships to encourage the development of more kidsREAD clubs
- Build rapport and strong relationships with kidsREAD Club coordinators, conduct site visits and provide feedback on club management to help improve the running of the kidsREAD clubs.
- Curate the kidsREAD curriculum through selection of books and creation of reading activities for weekly sessions
- Develop a good understanding of kidsREAD volunteers through club visits and ground engagement to effectively develop kidsREAD programmes for volunteers.
- Guide and manage the kidsREAD club coordinators for the arrangement of kidsREAD events and programmes
- Plan and procure services or items for kidsREAD programme.
- Ensure that kidsREAD programme is relevant and impactful through collection and evaluation of user feedback and data analysis
[What we are looking for]
- At least one to two years of relevant experience in project and programme management, and community engagement
- A passion for understanding and helping families from the lower income, and volunteering experience with lower income families/children would be an advantage.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for reading and promoting reading
- Good analytical, written and verbal communications skills
- Library qualifications such as Master of Science in Information Studies or Graduate Diploma in Information Science will be an advantage
- Required to work on weekends and sometimes weekday nights.
Successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
