**Head of SEA Public Affairs & Sustainability**

The Head of SEA Public Affairs & Sustainability is responsible for supporting and maintaining the growth of core businesses in the region, enabling new value pools and shaping enabling policies. He/She will be part of the APAC PASS & SEAP extended leadership team, supporting team cohesiveness within Crop Science and other business divisions within the Platform. He/She will also steer and coordinate legislative efforts by working with governmental and national authorities in Southeast Asia towards a positive political and regulatory environment for the agrochemical industry and Bayer.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Leadership - Initiate, provide leadership and coordination of Bayer crop protection, seeds and traits, government affairs & issue management initiatives, in alignment with the Global Public Affairs, Advocacy and Issue Management Team, based on Bayer’s core values and guidelines
- Political Relations - Establish and pro-actively maintain relevant internal and external crop protection policy networks, building stable and trusted relations with political and other stakeholders to influence policy which could impact Bayer crop protection, seeds and traits business (including policymakers, stakeholder associations, NGOs and INGOs with regional presence such as FAO, UN, WHO and CropLife Asia)
- Political Advocacy - Establish and execute advocacy plans for outreach to governmental, international and non-governmental organizations, farmer representative organisations, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders, representing Bayer crop protection, seeds and traits and pro-actively advocating our views, commitments and business interests.
- Communication - Working with Regional and Global Communications Function to drive strategic communications, delivery of key messaging and content
- Issue Management - Identify current and emerging issues of strategic importance for Bayer crop protection and seeds and Traits. Ensure both internal alignment and external coordination with relevant stakeholder groups, ie CropLife Asia with the delivery of timely and appropriate Bayer’s positions.
- Political Trends - Monitor and analyse of existing and developing issues (regional and national) which could impact Bayer’s business in Southeast Asia. Proactively communicate relevant developments to the Global Public Affairs, Advocacy and Issue Management Team
- Influence the development of new legislation pertaining to LTO for Bayer Crop Protection, Seeds and Traits business by creating policy proposals and working with government agencies and national authorities in region Southeast Asia
- Shape the sustainability narrative with Bayer Crop Science to foster closer dialogue and relevant to the government’s focus on food security and farmer livelihoods
- Manage constructive dialogue with relevant stakeholders, including NGOs on legislative trends and topics related to Bayer’s business in Southeast Asia

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- University degree and 15 - 20 years of business experience in the agrochemical industry
- Sound understanding of Bayer’s business and operating environment
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Strategic mind-set and ability to manage ambiguity
- Open mind-set for driving change and transforming processes
- Requires excellent relationship building capabilities
- Solid understanding of the Bayer Crop Science business and Southeast Asia priorities
