Senior Research Engineer I

The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre in School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Senior Research Engineer I to lead in the airframe structure design and integration. This research area is aligned with the university targets on alignment with Industry 4.0.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in the design of airframe and associated components.- Lead and undertake investigation of structural requirements under regulatory guidelines.- Lead and undertake composite layup design of aircraft structures and perform simulations.- Lead and undertake optimisation of composite layup design- Lead and participate and lead in design of experiments, experimental activities, procurement, fabrication, testing and assembly.- Contribute to other subsystems on technical requirements and system integration- Liaise with industry partners- Preparing presentations and reports for agencies and industrial partners.- Mentoring researchers, graduate and undergraduate students.- Monitoring and aligning the work done by the different project teams, industrial partners and collaborators.- Supporting and representing the PIs in meetings and reviews.
Job Requirements:
- BEng / MEng / PhD in Engineering from a recognized university and excels in the area of composites and structures.- At least 5 years of working experience in the area of composite structures design and composite fabrication (preferably in the aerospace sector)-
- Must have industrial / research experience and expertise in composites- Have experience leading of a team of junior engineers- Good team player, enthusiastic and good English skills.- Able to perform multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
