Key Responsibilities:
- Setting up protocols for understanding the penetration of the protein cage within the plaques;- Executing experiments to achieve the specific aims of the project;- Presenting results in various meetings/forums;- Preparing reports for submission to the funding agency;- Liaising with other scientists in the team as well as in other groups to develop the required expertise;- Advising final year project and/or interns in the project.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Bioengineering or related fields- Working knowledge in protein production using _E. coli_ and purification using AKTA FPLC- Excellent skills in basic molecular biology techniques and protein analytics- Experienced in imaging using confocal microscopy and electron microscopy- Experience with protein cage and nanoscience/nanotechnology is highly valuable- Highly preferred skills: familiarity with atherosclerosis and in vivo animal models (especially atherosclerotic model)- Able to design and execute experiments with mínimal instructions- Good communication skills in both verbal and written forms- Take initiatives and lead a project and ensure delivery of outcomes in a timely manner- Team player who will take part in general lab activities
