[What the role is]

You will be working to overcome technical challenges associated with the scaling of cultivated meat and seafood cell lines in bioreactor systems. The role will involve establishing optimal conditions for isolating and culturing cells from new species, cell line optimisation studies (e.g. suspension culture adaptation), establishing parameters and conducting experiments for bioprocess scale-up of cultivated meat cell lines. Familiarity with molecular techniques for cell line characterization and experience with serum-free media formulations would be a plus. You will work closely with other members of our small but growing team to do translational research and industry commissioned R&D projects.

**[What you will be working on]**
- Establish parameters, optimisation, and conduct experiments for bioprocess scale-up of cultivated meat cell lines.
- Suspension culture adaptation and edible microcarrier experiments.
- Cell line derivation and optimisation experiments.
- Liaise with stakeholders on bioprocess scale-up infrastructure requirements and accreditation.

**[What we are looking for]**
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in bioprocess scale-up of mammalian or eukaryote cell lines.
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for cell line scale-up in bioreactor systems.
- Experience working with suspension culture adapted cells or microcarrier systems in bioreactors is essential.
- Prior work experience in Cultivated Meat companies or BioPharma would be a plus.
- Proficient in cell culture skills and techniques. Familiarity with establishing primary cell cultures and serum-free media formulations would be an advantage but are not essential.
- Expected to assist with report writing, general lab management/safety matters, and handling of routine purchasing.
