**Division Description**

Global Leasing is the specialist leasing and asset finance division of Bank of America. It is a global market leader comprising a US$71 billion portfolio and nearly 1,000 associates. In Asia Pacific it provides finance to local and multinational corporate clients for large ticket assets across 12 countries in the Global Corporate & Investment Banking footprint. The core product set includes secured term loans, finance leases and operating leases for clients operating primarily in the transportation, energy & power, mining, manufacturing and technology sectors.

**Position Description & Primary Responsibilities**

The Leasing Credit Officer role sits within an International Credit Team supporting Global Leasing. The position will provide credit and portfolio management support to the origination teams located in Asia and requires a credit professional with Asia Pacific regional experience and familiarity in underwriting middle to large ticket asset financing. It is a newly created position to support the expansion of the business.

The individual will be responsible for underwriting, credit structuring and credit monitoring of new and existing facilities, including the timely preparation of credit submissions, annual reviews, and portfolio and asset quality management. As part of any new credit submissions, the role is responsible for developing credit structures in view of the client profile, industry, collateral type, financing requirements and repayment capabilities. The complexity of the client profile and related transactions requiring analysis can vary over a wide spectrum. The ability to efficiently multi-task and be decisive are important keys to success together with the ability to form an independent credit opinion and recommendation.

**Qualification & Skills Required**
- Undergraduate or post graduate degree (economics, finance, accounting or related discipline preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a credit risk underwriting/structuring role gained in the Asia Pacific corporate banking, structured asset finance or leasing industry.
- Minimum one year experience of credit approval/renewal authority.
- Transaction experience to include secured/unsecured lending of large ticket assets e.g. shipping/marine assets, aircraft, construction & mining equipment and manufacturing equipment.
- Analytical experience with both large public and private corporations.
- Analytical familiarity with high net worth individuals and commercial / corporate aviation is an advantage.
- General knowledge of corporate banking loan products.
- Demonstrated ability to identify trends and emerging risks in underwriting and client selection.
- Proven ability to analyze, interpret and negotiate transaction documentation.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of accounts and ensure timely review/discussion of notable performance issues.
- Demonstrated competence in problem recognition and risk mitigation.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
- Detail oriented and robust time management skills.
- A team player but with the ability to work independently.
- Travel, as required.
