**Tax Director - South Asia**

**What you will achieve**:
The South Asia Tax Director will lead overall tax operations of Singapore (global principal), Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam with a team of 8 professionals and report to APJC Tax VP.

**You will**:

- Form tax strategies in line with the group / regional tax strategies and design business models and footprint to optimize tax structure / effective tax rate and facilitate business growth while keeping tax compliance.
- Involve in M&A deals as well as business model and tax structure rationalization before and after the deals.
- Be responsible for the overall tax compliance and risk control along with country managers.
- Take charge of the tax controversy cases and audit defense to mitigate tax exposures.
- Lead Transfer Pricing controversy cases with global transfer pricing team’s support.
- Deeply involve in and drive for tax process / systems improvement with IT automation projects and resolve tax issues from new business models / transactions and trade compliance controversy cases with cross functions.
- Proactively involve and lead government support projects to optimize cost structures.
- Deeply involve in tax accounting processes for quarter / year-end closing, Fin48-ASC740, IFRIC23, FAS5, and other related areas.
- Manage healthy and robust relationship with government authorities (tax and others) / external advisors for tax compliance / planning and facilitating business growth.
- As one of the regional CFO organization leaders, proactively lead and involve in people initiatives / site activities and develop talents’ skill sets for their career growth.

**Essential Requirements**
- 15+ years tax professional experience with both “Big 4” accounting firms and in-house tax practice of MNC(s) as a team leader
- Experience and knowledge in dealing with transfer pricing matters and controversy cases
- Be familiar with international tax concepts and practices (e.g. BEPS, tax treaties, cross-border transactions, etc.)
- A leader that can drive and motivate the team to deliver results selflessly
- A strong team player with good inter-personal skills that can collaborate and work with cross-functions with a view to winning together
- B.A. or above degree majoring in Taxation, Accounting or related areas
- A clear thinker and constant learner always ready to combat challenges with strong resilience in a fast-paced business environment

**Desirable Requirements**
- CPA/ CTA/JD qualification
- Experience in dealing with EDB of Singapore and other government agencies in South Asia
