**Server Operation Engineer JD**

**Job description**

1. Responsible for planning the server or rack, arranging the server mounting or rack installation, and following up the installation of the server operating system

%1. Responsible for the daily maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and follow-up break-fix of the server and other hardware

%1. Maintain data on internal systems including Asset Management, Ticketing, & rack elevations

%1. Work with remote vendors to solve hardware batch failures and problems

%1. Oncall on duty, responsible for dealing with the problems raised by the business side

%1. Collect and check online asset data

%1. Submit and track the part RMA or media destruction process

%1. Server network troubleshooting

%1. Server lifecycle management

**Job requirements**

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer science, Electrical engineering or any other relevant fields

%1. Strong ability to work under pressure; Strong learning ability, broad technical interest; Strong sense of responsibility, full of enthusiasm for work

%1. Good communication skills in English, mandarin is preferred, good team work spirit; Ability to work independently

%1. Knowledge of the interdependencies of data center functions and technologies

%1. Experience with massive remote OS installation such as PXE boot

%1. Can **understand** and **run** Shell or Python scripts

%1. Familiar with simple automation tool, such as Ansible

%1. Familiar with Linux system, able to locate hardware faults; Strong analytical and problem solving skills

%1. Basic TCP/IP knowledge concepts - Subnetting, VLANs, DNS, IPv6; Ability to perform general troubleshooting

%1. Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out _server_ communication methods, such as IPMI and NCSI Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) is a set of computer interface specifications for an autonomous computer subsystem that provides management and monitoring capabilities independently of the host system's CPU, firmware (BIOS or UEFI) and operating system.
