**Primary Purpose of the Role**:
Singapore Gymnastics seeks an ambitious and professional Gymnastics Dance & Artistry Coach to assist the High-Performance Team in implementing and delivering a world class Gymnastics-specific Artistic Preparation and Artistry Training programme. This role carries responsibility around the development and delivery of the Artistry programme across all disciplines in the National Training Centre (NTC).

The Code of Points (CoP) within several of our disciplines has changed significantly over the past 2 Olympiads, and now values both Difficulty and Artistry as significant components of many Gymnastics disciplines. It is expected that in the new code that FIG will place an EVEN greater emphasis on Execution and Artistry to promote more interest and to engage the media and the audience in the gymnast’s performances. The role will be instrumental in assisting with the NTC athletes’ performance by minimising artistry and execution deductions, while assisting the National coaches in increasing athlete routine difficulty.

The Artistry programme will look to develop superb artistry displays of the National Team athletes in the following areas:

- Technical ability or virtuosity: which has been defined as great skill or technique shown by somebody who excels at doing something
- Musicality: ability to connect with the music, interpret it, phrase and add dynamics to movement in relationships to the music in a way that is unique or interesting
- Acting ability: a talent for displaying emotion, depth of character, or communicating intent/motivation
- Performance: being engaged in the movement, the expression, or emotion of the routine
- Movement quality: making smooth transitions between movements/steps, attacking sharp/strong movements or exhibiting control with smooth or sustained movements
- Creativity: taking prescribed choreography and turning it into an individualised expression of self.

The Gymnastics Dance & Artistry Coach will cultivate, encourage, foster, emphasise and grow Artistry in all athletes, regardless of ability, through a deliberate and well planned curriculum.

**Responsibilities
**Leadership**
- Openly share and distribute information which is relevant
- Promote and support SG programs, regulations and policies at all times
- Ensure the GM and relevant staff are briefed on key issues
- Produce high quality and professional correspondence, documentation and reports
- Contribute to a positive organisational culture which is focused on delivering results and excellence in service provision

**Artistic Movement Curriculum and Delivery**
- Develop a well-designed, gymnastics specific Artistic Preparation and Artistry Training curriculum that can be used across multiple disciplines.
- Integrate into the Artistry curriculum, an enhanced injury prevention program for gymnast’s core stability through a dance-based physical preparation that forms part of a daily curriculum from the beginning of the gymnast’s development.
- Lead and manage the planning and delivery of the Artistry programmes across all disciplines in consultation with the Programme Managers and National Coaches
- Research, analyse and report on international trends that will enhance athlete’s artistic performance
- To deliver an artistry programme that works on the presentation of athletes, raising their self-awareness, self-confidence and control over their body helping them to complement a story through their precise, rhythmic movements
- To work on the co-coordinative skills of athletes during dance movements.
- To improve the "radiance" during a floor exercise, by increasing the technical skills such as "great movement", "head raised", “a perceptible open expression".

Enhancing and enriching current Singaporean coach knowledge by identifying, supporting and developing the High Performance Team through professional development opportunities

**Communication**
- Weekly meetings with the coaching teams
- Attend and participate in monthly SSSM team meetings with the support services network
- Produce reports, as required by the General Manager and High Performance Team, in a timely, efficient and concise manner

Assist with any other general duties within the SG office as directed by the GM.
