In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the high availability and performance of our databases, resolve issues promptly, and implement best practices to enhance the database infrastructure.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) for optimal performance.
- Perform regular database backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor database systems to ensure high availability and performance, proactively resolving issues.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools for continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain documentation on database configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Participate in on-call support as needed to address critical database incidents.
**What you will bring in**:
- Proven experience as an Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA).
- In-depth knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in SQL and database optimization techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a bonus.
