**Job Responsibility**:

- Work directly with customers to scope, gather, review, create, and implement their technical requirements and steer them toward the company’s best practice solutions
- In-depth, hands-on involvement directly with customers implementing the Calypso system
- Work directly with the customer project team implementing the company’s system and assist them in implementing their users’ requirements
- System installation, including Java JRE download and installation, relational database installation, data model installation and upgrade scripts, setup, and configuration of the event-driven framework, the configuration of real-time market data feed, etc.
- Follow up with the client’s end-users to validate the solution delivered, test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system towards go-live
- Identify and raise approved core product gaps and follow up using established internal processes until delivery
- Work with Calypso business analysts, Calypso core development, or customer development team to code prototypes of enhancements to ensure they will meet business requirements
- During the development of enhancements, work with core development or customer development to iteratively test enhancements to ensure they meet business requirements
- Assist developers in understanding the API required to extend the Calypso system, add data to the Calypso system, and build interfaces between Calypso and external systems
- Hands-on with the system, configuring it and testing it so that it meets the customer’s technical requirements. Assist in deployment and validation by the client. Work with Project Managers to set and manage customer expectations around project timelines
- Manage technical issues, track the timeline of deliverables to keep the customer informed of progress, and assist customers with the development of their own internal project plans including identification of key setup and configuration tasks, scope considerations, timeline and scheduling, and resource requirements
- Train users and customer developers on the basic use of the system, particularly with the technical setup, and new functionality

**Skills And Requirements**
- Experience working in systems or technical analysis, preferably in the capital markets industry with software including Java, Swing, JDBC, RMI, J2EE, Linux, Sybase, XML
- Strong GUI and server-side development
- Excellent object-oriented analysis, design & development skills
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with Sybase and/or Oracle
- Preference for domain experience in developing or implementing software in support of any or all the following asset classes: credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, fixed income, or FX.
- Experience designing/building front-to-back capital markets trading systems will be especially valuable
- Excellent interpersonal skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working hands-on educating and training customers, and patience will be key to success
