Precision Medicine Director, Medical Affairs Apac

The Asia Pacific (AP) Precision Medicine Lead will have responsibility for developing and executing the Precision Medicine Strategic plans for Medical Affairs (MAF) across all disease areas in the Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Organisation. This role will require working in close collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders across the regional, local and global organization.

The AP Precision Medicine Lead will lead Medical Affairs activities in support of companion and complementary diagnostics (CDx) for products within J&J’s targeted therapies pipeline across Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and in all stages of development and commercialization within the Asia Pacific region.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development and execution of Regional Medical Affairs Precision Medicine strategy in support of each product indication launch in therapeutic areas where companion and complementary diagnostics (CDx) are required to ensure patient access and medical adoption”, including Oncology (Lung cancers, etc.) as well as Retina, NS and Immunology at AP level and collaborate closely on the prioritized assets with all markets
- Develop internal and external customer engagements that successfully support precision medicine business objectives.
- Collaborate on the execution of the Regional cross-functional Precision Company Confidential Page 2 of 3 Medicine overarching and prioritized PM related assets strategies.
- Serve as a regional expert on Precision Medicine and provide medical guidance to the Therapeutic Areas Strategy Leadership & MAF teams, with a strong focus on launch readiness preparation, regulatory and funding requirements, and support the development of Centres of Excellence (CoEs)
- Build current and future competitive advantage by understanding and addressing key customers’ medical needs, and by demonstrating deep understanding of competitors’ development strategies
- Lead scientific evaluation of diagnostics platforms, actively seek effective strategic partnerships and collaboration with appropriate academies, medical societies and CDx companies to support awareness and understanding of the genetic mutations, testings and pathologies addressed by our assets
- Drive key external stakeholder engagement Plans and Lead Medical education events, to educate on the unmet needs
- Lead and co-create evidence generation strategies and tactics that address unmet medical needs and identify biomarker/diagnostic opportunities for portfolio prioritized assets. Support the development of AP-specific value propositions. Raise AP unmet needs to Global Teams for integrated WW plans
- Support Clinical Trials and post-marketing studies for our targeted therapies when needed
- Continue to educate internal stakeholders on the precision medicine landscape and dynamics, supporting PM as a strategic priority
- Contribute to developing internal MAF and cross-functional capabilities required for long-term success in precision medicine
- Own the budget for assigned medical activities and partnerships
- Establish a productive work environment by creating trust and respect in all interactions

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors degree essential. Advanced qualifications preferred
- 5+ years experience in the Pharmaceutical/biotech/diagnostic industry in progressive medical leadership roles
- Strong leadership skills required. Strong communication skills required
- Strong analytical, scientific and strategic thinking to identify key business issues and establish priorities

- Experience in diagnostics and precision medicine required Regional Medical experience preferred
- Ability to work in strong matrix environment and leading by influence required
- Demonstrated ability to influence and manage a complex set of internal and external stakeholders
- Prior experience working with academics and learning societies is required
- Previous experience working in cross-functional teams
