Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.

DESIGNATION : Speech and Language Therapist (Locum)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Speech and Language Therapist role is a locum role to work alongside staff of other disciplines in the LSN Team to provide services to children with special needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide therapy for children (2 to 9 years) with special needs
- Assess oromotor, speech, language and functional communication skills & needs of children with special needs
- Deliver therapy services either by direct therapy, consultation with teachers and parents, collaboration with teachers and parents, or by monitoring of child’s progress
- Work in collaboration with teaching/non-teaching staff and caregivers for the effective enhancement of services.
- Work closely with intervention team in areas of assessment, goal development, intervention strategies and progress monitoring in a trans-disciplinary setting
- Work closely with intervention team to develop each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Maintain documentation on children’s progress
- Conduct in-service and parent workshop talks

**Requirements**:

- Must possess Degree in Speech Therapy from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Health under the Allied Health Professions Act
- Have obtained Full Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
- Preferably with 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience
- Able to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced work environment
- Available to match a monthly timeslot for at least 1 class

Class Timings:
Class 1: Tue & Thu, 9.30am to 12.30pm

Class 2: Tue & Thu, 3pm to 6pm

Class 3: Wed & Fri, 9.30am to 12.30pm

Class 4: Wed & Fri, 3pm to 6pm

Hourly rate : $120-$160

Employment Type : Contract for Service

Location : Woods Square (near Woodlands MRT)

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess Degree in Speech Therapy from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Health under the Allied Health Professions Act
- Have obtained Full Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
