If you are new to piano teaching, this is a fantastic opportunity for you. We welcome beginner teachers and music / education students who are looking for part-time work. We provide mentorship to help you learn _how _ to teach and _what _ to teach.

If you are already an experienced teacher looking for new opportunities, rest assured that we do things differently here. We are student-led and passion-driven, and creativity is key. Pushing students through yearly exams is not our way. Our students love the piano and it’s our job to further their passion without letting it burn out.

**About Piano with Po**
We are a small and personable team, providing creative one-to-one piano lessons to students ages 5 and above. Our mission is to create a lifelong love of music in our students, and lessons are fun for both students and teachers. We use modern methods with a variety of off-bench activities and games to enhance learning.

**About the Role**
- Part-time position, teaching students one-to-one
- Approximately 2 to 4 hours per week initially, with an expectation for increased hours as student enrolments increase
- Teaching hours will generally be Monday to Friday afternoons between 3.30pm to 7.30pm, and/or on Saturdays between 9am - 4pm. You do not need to be available all days and times as your schedule will depend on student enrolments and availabilities
- You will be teaching in students’ homes, therefore you need to be able to arrange your own transport
- You will be provided with all the materials to teach fun and engaging lessons. There is no overtime needed from you to plan curriculum or lessons
- Ongoing training and support will also be given to help you confidently deliver outstanding lessons to your students

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who checks these boxes.
- A vibrant personality who easily connects with kids and can inspire them in a kind and encouraging manner
- An excellent and professional communicator with parents
- Mature, responsible approach to managing your time and workload
- Organised, punctual and reliable with your lesson planning and lesson notes
- Enjoys working as a team
- Have an open mind and be willing to adopt a wide range of teaching strategies that might be different to how you were taught

**Music Experience Required**
As this is a piano teaching role, you will need to possess core piano and music skills.
- You need to be skilled at playing the piano (able to play intermediate repertoire at a minimum)
- Highly competent at sight-reading
- Improvisation and composition skills are highly regarded
- ABRSM / AMEB / Trinity / RCM or other Graded Exam performance qualifications are highly valued
- Have a strong and demonstrable level of musicianship theory
- Prior teaching experience (in any field) is great but not required
- A genuine love of music is essential. We seek people who know they want to inspire students. This isn’t just a job.
