Av Technician

XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit an **Audio Visual Technician. **The AV technician supports all audio-visual technology resources and services within the school. The successful incumbent works primarily in the school auditorium to support the performances and assemblies and as a member of the ICT department, the AV technician may be called upon to provide audio and visual support in classrooms at school events and conferences.

**Main Responsibilities**

Provides technical and creative audio-visual design assistance & problem solving
- Deploys, sets up, and operates LEDs, projectors, & audio equipment
- Coaches staff and students to on how to use AV equipment to them learn
- Support periodic school activities, e.g., PD days, parent events, workshops/conferences, etc.
- Seek and engage external vendors to provide necessary support as put forth by event organizers
- Creates knowledgebase (Freshdesk) documentation to help share knowledge with ICT staff and staff/students
- Responsible for the operation and coordination of all AV systems required for live or streamed performances or events, including but not limited to
- Working with users on theatre/audio/visual requirements
- Conduct or attend, pre and post-production meetings to better understand and manage the performance
- Operate lighting, sound and video and keeps equipments in working order
- Provide editing for event archival footages when necessary
- Work according to requirements stipulated in the SLA within XWA.
- Ensures that all audio-visual related equipment is fully functional and safe.
- If an equipment or operation challenge arises, s/he can diagnose failures and problems in order to identify and understand the underlying causes and takes appropriate action.
- Initiate repairs and replacement requests to vendors when necessary
- Conduct periodic checks and issue timely reports or as requested by management
- Manages the venue’s & support resources booking systems
- Provide maintenance and helps with the planning of upgrades for all AV related equipment
- Designs, implements and maintains an audio-visual equipment inventory.
- Manage vendor relationship on procurement and repairs
- Assists with annual budget planning for AV equipment and the Auditorium
- Identifies and recommends new products that would benefit the school.
- Upload or modify schedules of content as requested by authorised users or management
- Responsible for the uptime and maintenance of the Video-Wall & eSignage system
- Work with ICT engineers as need to operate, troubleshoot, and share knowledge across
- Exercise and implement safety precautions when working with equipment or with students and other staff.

**Person Specifications**
- Diploma/Degree in technical production or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position or in an international school setting
- Minimum of 5 years in events and entertainment, experience with Digital Audio Systems, Projection, Digital lighting systems and theater rigging.
- Experience with networking, show control systems and replay systems.
- Networking and IT skills
- Fluent English language capacity
- Good personal etiquette and positive customer service attitude
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and effective problem solving (technical) skills.
- Ability to multi task and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times
- Proficient in self-training and time management
- Flexible problem solver open to new technologies who can work independently, as part of a team, and under time constraints in a dynamic environment
- Positive and growth mindset with excellent customer service skills
- Relevant experience in providing IT Support
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of MacOS and iOS
- Experience in Google Workspace Applications preferred
- Mobile device management experience would be an advantage
