**Department Insights**
The RWEST Steel Complex team is a growing desk within RWE focused on the expansion of the industrial commodity portfolio. The team is currently trading steel, coking coal, iron ore derivatives and some physical products. The desk has an active options book and we are looking to recruit someone to support in the execution of existing strategies as well as support in the development of new.

**Your future plans**
- Build an in-depth understanding of fundamental market drivers
- Develop an intuitive and quantitative understanding of the mechanics of vanilla option, correlation, dispersion, and related products traded in the market
- Assist in forming a market opinion on flat price, spread, volatility and correlation developments
- Develop and back-test volatility and correlation trading strategies
- Manage financial Delta, Vega and Gamma risks within approved mandates
- Communicate market activity and expectations to senior management
- Alongside other members of the desk, ensure proper coverage and management of all positions

**Your powerful skills**
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, sound conceptual thinking
- Ideally academic experience in stochastic modelling, optimization, time-series analysis techniques
- Basic derivatives, in particular, option know-how preferred
- Basic programming skills to do both, rapid-prototyping and implementation of core trading strategies and their back-testing algorithms (Python, C++, or others)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn new skills and understand complex issues quickly.
- Enthusiastic approach to work, high level of self-motivation with a willingness to instigate and adapt to new and changing processes
- Good team player
- Excellent communication skills
- English and Mandarin speaker required with additional German language skills being advantageous
- Disciplined and organised approach to work with the ability to work within tight deadlines and under pressure
