The Global Compliance team within Bloomberg's Legal Department provides coverage of Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, as well as support for Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory issues, ensure compliance with current/developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators. Bloomberg has regulated activities that include regulated trading venues (e.g., U.K. Multilateral Trading Facility, U.S. Swap Execution Facility), a recognised Market Operator in Singapore, Electronic Trading services, and other regulated offerings globally.
**What's the role?**
Reporting directly to the APAC AML Program Lead, this is a great opportunity to contribute to a growing regional Anti-money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) program. The AML team are responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legal and/or regulatory requirements. The KYC due diligence team are primarily responsible for new client onboarding and ongoing maintenance of existing clients.
As an AML Compliance Officer, you will assist the APAC AML Program Lead in implementing the Company's AML and KYC program for the APAC region, and support the KYC Team Lead in executing Singapore and other regional Customer Due Diligence (CDD) procedures, including escalating, and providing advice on, potential issues and cases to the country Compliance Officers in accordance with those procedures. The role involves close partnership with the Company's Global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team as well as local Compliance teams, focused on Bloomberg Tradebook Singapore Pte Ltd (an RMO licensed entity) among other regional and international (e.g., UK, European) entities. You will support the growth of the KYC team and function as it expands to meet and support business requirements of the regulated entities within the Bloomberg group.
You're someone that has a deep understanding of the front-to-back customer due diligence process and is well versed with legal entity types. Ideally, you'll also demonstrate strong competent knowledge of current local Singapore (MAS) and regional regulatory requirements and relevant financial industry knowhow concerning Customer Due Diligence standards.
**We'll trust you to**:
- Support the AML and KYC Programs across APAC, including direct coverage and support for our organised market, operated by Tradebook Singapore (Recognised Market Operator regulated by MAS)
- Manage exceptions and escalations (including PEPs, sanctions and adverse news) as part of new client onboarding and periodic review
- Identify and assess key risk factors when considering the AML risk relevant to clients, products or business lines
- Support the ongoing development an annual completion of certain legal entity money laundering risk assessments
- Have a strong working knowledge of AML requirements for onboarding clients, including but not limited to the local regulations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, India and Malaysia
- Prepare and distribute Management Information reports to the relevant Compliance group, up to various business partners and appropriate governance forums
- Support management and the wider business with remediation of AML/CDD reviews and issues
- Advise and assist with client and/or regulatory queries
- Represent the KYC/AML function on key strategic projects and initiatives as needed
- Assist in the creation and delivery of AML training to team members and key business areas
- Support the establishment of best practice across broad Bloomberg Compliance Function
**You'll need to have**:
?- 5+ years of relevant AML/KYC advisory and program experience in Financial Services
