**Senior 2D Creative Artist /Junior Art Director (Gaming/iGaming Project)**
**Join Vanguard Software to Craft Immersive Gaming WorldsVanguard Software is seeking a Senior 2D Creative Artist/Jnr Art Director(depending on skillsets) to join our dynamic team for an exciting new gaming project. We’re looking for a self-driven, experienced creative professional with a passion for gaming or iGaming, who can independently transform concepts into visually stunning 2D animations and art assets that align with gameplay and project requirements. Reporting to the Creative Director and Creative Leader, this role demands initiative, leadership or independent execution, and a strong background in art, coupled with a willingness to leverage AI tools for efficiency within a tight, well-managed timeline.**
**Key Responsibilities**:Conceptualize, design, and execute high-quality 2D animations, art assets, and backgrounds that enhance gameplay and align with the project’s creative vision.Independently flesh out concepts into polished 2D visuals, ensuring consistency with game design and technical requirements.Lead or collaborate on creative tasks, driving projects forward with initiative and ownership under the guidance of the Creative Director and Creative Leader.Utilize AI-powered tools to streamline workflows and accelerate asset creation without compromising quality.Work closely with designers, developers, and project managers to ensure deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards.Adapt to feedback from the Creative Director and Creative Leader, iterating quickly to maintain alignment with project goals with project teams.
**What We’re Looking For**:Essential Qualifications:Proven Experience: 3+ years in the gaming or iGaming industry, with a portfolio showcasing high-quality 2D animations, art assets, or background designs.Creative Initiative: Ability to independently take a concept from ideation to completion, with strong visual storytelling and 2D animation skills.Artistic Expertise: Exceptional background art skills, with a deep understanding of color theory, composition, and 2D animation principles.AI Adaptability: Openness to using AI tools to enhance efficiency and speed in creative workflows.Collaboration & Communication: Strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with the Creative Director, Creative Leader, and cross-functional teams.Time Management: Proven ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
**Preferred Qualifications**:Proficiency in Spine or similar 2D animation software (e.g., Adobe Animate, DragonBones); ability to quickly learn Spine is a plus.Experience with game development pipelines and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Figma, or other design software.Knowledge of 3D animation or related skills is a bonus, as 3D may be relevant for future projects.Experience with special effects or sound design is a plus but not required.
