**About the role**:
MUFG is developing a specialist team for the Portfolio Management of stressed and distressed assets in the Structured Finance portfolio in Asia Pacific.

You will be a part of the Asian Investment Banking Division (“AIBD”) that sits in the front line, responsible for the promotion of Corporate & Investment Banking products, covering both Global and Japanese Corporates.

The Portfolio Management team takes over the management of structured loans originated in AIBD, to monitor and enhance the credit quality of the portfolio through engagement with stakeholders and through credit risk assessment and support.

In this role, you will help manage the stressed Project Finance (power, natural resources and infrastructure) and Real Estate Finance portfolio.

**What you’ll be doing**:
Client Management & Strategy
- Maximise recovery of stressed assets through oversight, ownership and rehabilitation.
- Support the formulation of risk mitigation, recovery and restructuring strategies through options analysis, and the execution of these strategies.
- Manage the overall risk profile of stressed assets throughout project life, including ongoing monitoring of client and project conditions, proactive risk identification, recommendation of risk mitigants, and management reporting.
- Support the implementation of workout solutions through complex stakeholder negotiations with clients, bank syndicates, external specialist advisors and internal stakeholders, including negotiation of restructuring terms and amendment documents.
- Maintain good client relationships through regular contact, representing business objectives to resolve issues, while also managing customer needs.

Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Analysis & Reporting
- Performance of stress testing, sector analysis and other portfolio analysis
- Assess and execute secondary loan sales in collaboration with the MUFG Distribution team

Strategic Initiatives
- Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, including enhancements to the credit monitoring process to improve business efficiency.

**What we are looking for**:

- 6 years+ experience in managing stressed or distressed assets, workouts and restructuring, deal structuring, credit writing, recommendation to credit committee or being a credit approver
- Detailed understanding of banking products, credit risk, financial analysis, critical and data analysis, impact sensitivity studies, financial modelling, options analysis, valuation, financing documentation and legal considerations
- People management experience
- Experience in Project Finance or Real Estate would be beneficial
- Degree qualified in a Finance, Accounting, Legal or related discipline is advantageous
- Excellent technical skills, a strategic mindset and business acumen
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong negotiation, communication and writing skills
- Proactive, resourceful and a good team player, with ability to build rapport with internal and external parties
