We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant in Fiber Laser in the Centre for Optical Fibre Technology in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Singapore. The position is for one-year. The Research Assistant will assist the Reporting Manager in a project funded by the Ministry of Education Singapore, Fiber laser oscillator generating kilowatt-level peak power in the blue range.

**Job Description**:
The Research Assistant will conduct research on building a modelocked fiber laser operating at 480 nm wavelength. The roles of the position include:
- Characterizing the gain and passive fibers comprising the laser cavity- Simulating and designing the laser cavity- Building and characterizing the output pulses of the modelocked laser- Performing procurements- Assisting graduate
- and undergraduate-level research students- Managing day-to-day operations of the laboratories

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related field- Experience in modelocked laser cavity simulations- Proficiency in English
