The HR team at Allen & Overy provides a first-class service to the business, offering strategic HR business advice at the business partner level and quality support services in the full range of HR functions through specialist teams such as, learning and development, resourcing, reward, employee relations advice, payroll, systems and HR administration.**Role purpose**Key relationships**

**Job description**
**Key Role and Responsibilities**
- Work closely with APAC HR to develop an APAC DE&I strategy that seeks to deliver on the firm’s global objectives while addressing regional challenges and nuances.
- Work with stakeholders to develop programmes that ensure new and current employees of all backgrounds feel welcomed by fostering a diverse working environment, facilitating equitable outcomes for staff, and implementing a culture of inclusivity:
- identify areas of opportunity, develop recommended courses of action, and drive implementation of recommendations within the APAC region; and
- Ensure consistent measurement of overall metrics for reporting purposes.
- Ensure the regional DE&I strategy is integrated and operationalised into A&O’s key processes by embedding principles of diversity, equity and inclusion in general decision making, and influencing people management practices and everyday thinking and interactions.
- Monitor progress and success of the various APAC DE&I projects and initiatives.
- Track diversity metrics providing regular updates to senior stakeholders within the APAC region highlighting progress and where action must be taken.
- Prepare and deliver DE&I presentations and communications as appropriate for internal and external audiences, including at DE&I conferences.
- Participate in industry DE&I forums; maintain and develop external relationships with diversity-related organisations, thought leaders and vendors.
- Oversee diversity-related external surveys across APAC, including external diversity benchmarking surveys.
- Monitor external DE&I best practices and make recommendations for new initiatives to ensure that A&O is a leader in the DE&I space in APAC.
- Coach the APAC DE&I partner champions to represent A&O within their local community or industry partners, peers, and clients.
- Lead the reviews of DE&I policies for the purpose of providing feedback to policy owners.
- Work with the APAC comms team to create and distribute internal communications regarding DE&I including but not limited to updates on DE&I efforts, and celebratory DE&I communications; ensure DE&I communications reflect firm values and are aligned with firm priorities.
**Key Requirements**
- Deep experience of operating effectively and successfully leading DE&I change in a large, complex, and matrixed global organisations within Asia Pacific.
- Strong track record of experience in collaborating with and presenting to internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to drive insights and key messages for different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to partner collaboratively across all departments and functions.
- Demonstrated ability to understand cultural sensitivities across APAC and ensure communication is suitable for different audiences.
- Tenacity, drive to succeed, can do attitude with ability to use creativity and initiative to ensure the delivery of a stretching strategy.
