Director, Safety and Environment

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

The EHS Director will provide leadership and technical guidance in order to develop, implement, maintain and improve continuously the Environmental, Safety and Health Management System for the Singapore site, in order to guarantee full compliance with: legal requirements related to Environmental, Safety and Health; our corporate standards, policies, procedures and guidelines related to EHS and industry best practices.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Plan, develop and implement EHS programs in order to assure continuous compliance with local legislation, our standards and industry best practices, investigate and mitigate risks across environmental, health, safety, and sustainability (EHS&S) opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement focused on both approaches and outcomes.
- Identify, coach and develop talent.
- Manage the team of EHS Professionals assigned to the Singapore site.
- Build network of EHS sponsors and support on site and with global organizations.
- Serve as a member of Site Leadership team and provide both EHS&S and business insights.
- Support Site's Leadership to maintain and improve their local EHS programs, through each site Operations team or directly. Assist Operational departments in achieving and maintaining compliance.
- Prepare required reports to site, divisional and/or corporate management and regulatory agencies.
- Manage budgetary & capital needs to support EHS initiatives, projects and programs.
- Serve as interface with local governmental EHS agencies and insurance carriers.
- Evaluate, with the Engineering Department, the requirements related to EHS applicable for new projects and processes as well as changes in the existing processes and installation.

**WHAT YOU MUST HAVE**

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering or Physical Science Degree Required Post-Graduate qualification preferred CSP, PE, CIH, CQA preferred.

**Experience**:

- 10+ years EHS experience in Chemical, Pharmaceutical or related industries.
- Experience of supporting multiple activities/projects and of working with EHS regulatory agencies and corporate support functions. Expertise in Process Safety Management preferable.
- This role requires a computer savvy individual who is willing to use technology as an enabler. MS Office Suite, Spotfire and QlikSense visualization tools and Enablon use are all required.
