**CONSULTANT, GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS**

Vriens & Partners (V&P) is the leading government affairs consulting firm in Southeast Asia.
Headquartered in Singapore, the firm has offices in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines,
Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia and Washington DC. Our team comprises 90 full-time employees from
over ten nationalities, as well as 40 senior advisors from across the region. Our clients are primarily
major multinationals, along with various business associations and non-governmental organizations.

**POSITION**

We’re looking for a Consultant to join our firm in Singapore. The Consultant will support research and
experience, with proven skills in project management and an aptitude for client management.

A successful applicant will have a deep interest in regulatory and economic issues in the region, as
well as strong communications and organizational skills. Your priority will be to support Singapore and
Regional advisory work, developing Government Affairs analysis and recommendations. You will track
legislative and policy changes that could impact clients, assess challenges and opportunities, and lead
research on policy issues. You’ll also prepare and deliver written analysis and strategy for clients.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead project work and ensure all deliverables are up to standard.
- Develop and execute strategies for clients to advance their government affairs objectives.
- Lead client management, facilitating regular meetings and presentations to senior executives
- from multinational corporations.- Oversee the preparation, drafting and finalization of analytical reports.
- Support the management of a team of government affairs consultants and advisors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government officials and non-government
- stakeholders (NGOs, industry association, academics, business).- Facilitate client communication with government.
- Support business development activities and lead proposal development.
- Contribute to the growth of the office and the firm as a whole.

**QUALIFICATIONS**_ _**
- Two to five years of relevant work experience in a related field whether in government,

consulting, in-house government affairs role, journalism, or think tanks.
- Proven expertise in government affairs and public policy.
- Excellent analytical skills, sound judgment, and business development acumen.
- Strong knowledge of politics, government, and bureaucracy in Southeast Asia.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.**_ _**
- Preference for degree in political science, international relations, history, economics, public
policy, or law. An advanced degree is a value-add.
