**Roles**

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Technical Superintendent will be responsible for all aspects of the technical maintenance, planning, budget control and ensure vessels comply to class and statutory regulations for safe and costs effective operations of managed vessels.

**Responsibilities**
- Preparing ship maintenance plans for assigned vessels.
- Monitoring of vessel’s maintenance works based on the ship’s maintenance plan.
- Evaluation of maintenance standards on board assigned vessels.
- Management of survey and certificates.
- Prompt management of incidents and accidents, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Timely preparation of inspections and dry dockings. Maintaining the latest versions of vessel plans and manuals.
- Arrangements of spares, stores, lubricants, paints etc. for vessels.
- Preparation of vessel budgets including regular updates of budget and cost control.
- Management of environmental, safety standards and maintenance advice to vessels.
- Investigation of and adherence with National and International regulations, flag state requirements, maker’s technical and class information.
- Familiarization with new vessels joining management through plans, manuals, sea-trials and pre-delivery attendance and by sailing on the vessel during her maiden voyage.
- Ship visits at stipulated intervals and submission of visit reports.
- Arrangements, costings and attendance for insurance repairs.
- Evaluation and motivation of the ship’s crew.
- Coordination of activities between ship and office.
- Daily performance monitoring of the vessels.

**Qualification**
- Marine Engineering qualification or equivalent
- Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer Officer Class 1 (Motorship) or equivalent

**Work Experience**
- Minimum two years’ experience in Senior Engineer rank with good knowledge of ISM, Class and regulatory requirements.
- Have relevant experience working on VLCC and Gas carriers with latest engines of MAN B&W and MHI UEC engines, submersible cargo pumps and deep knowledge on cargo plant and deck machinery maintenance as Senior Engineer.
- Good technical knowledge and diagnostic acumen from above experience to guide and support ships daily operations and coordinate promptly with shore team and owners to ensure safe operation.
- Experience and good knowledge on electrical and automation system, BWTS and EGCS, especially working on Japanese built ships would be an added advantage.
- Good negotiation and communication skills to deal with vendors and yards.
- Good people management skills.
- Able to multi-task and be a team player.
- Drydocking experience an added advantage.
- PMS experience and management of Shipnet software is an added advantage.
