**Job Description**:
**Positions Title: Team Lead, Software Development.**

**Position Summary**

Rockwell Automation is looking for exceptional leaders to manage an engineering team responsible for developing high quality software products with focus on compiler and programming language development in our Logix platform - the leading industrial automation product.

This Position is for a hands-on technology and team leader to evolve Rockwell’s Logix platform and to manage a team of software and firmware engineers, working as part of a global product development team.

**Essential Functions**
- Lead the effort to define the scope of the software project and conduct effort estimation through collaboration with firmware and software tech leads; oversee the execution of the project.
- Instill high performance culture in the team, lead continuous improvement and actively adopt the best engineering practice.
- Be responsible for developing a world-class software team through competency development and performance management.
- Ensure development team remains current and abreast of technology advances and promotes their usage in products and processes.
- Foster a climate of diversity and teamwork, rewarding and recognizing high performance with open, honest communication that supports Rockwell Automation values.
- Works closely with software engineers in an agile development environment to improve our quality and turn-around time of delivered software.
- Well versed and hands-on with Logix instruction development and relevant processes.

**Qualifications**
Education Requirements
BS Electrical Eng., BS Computer Eng., or BS Computer Science required. MS in Engineering desirable.

Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software product development environment.
- Experience in a leadership role in engineering like team lead and/or project Lead.
- Direct experience with product development using C/C++ or Java/Kotlin with Object Oriented Design. Knowledge of modern compiler technologies and tools such as ANTLR and YACC is an advantage.
- Proven ability to communicate innovative solutions and complex technical information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
- Proven ability to work effectively as a leader of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work and coordinate effectively with multiple teams.
- Direct experience collaborating with local and global technical development teams.

Desired experience and skills
- Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry, and knowledge or experience with embedded software development.
- A bent toward technology, particularly with respect to next generation software technology.
- Knowledge and experience with alternative software development best practices.
