Project Title: Mobile Web App for Preschool Screening of Language Weakness in English and Mandarin (MAPS-LEM)

Project Introduction: Singapore’s first mobile language screener with multiple tests of English and Mandarin language proficiencies is proposed. This sets the stage for large-scale targeted interventions addressing language weakness early on, which could improve long-term social and mental health.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g., speech language therapy, psychology, linguistics, bilingualism, child development, childhood education)
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with children (kindergarten age)
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin
- Be comfortable in being trained to program in R

Preferred
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in research or practice
- Leadership experience
- Receptive to using computer software for data analysis (Training provided)
- Receptive to using computer software for wide range of administrative duties

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the project leaders/research team to create a test battery for language weakness
- Collect data from Kindergarten age children in an on-time and reliable manner
- Conduct literature and database searches (e.g. language weakness)
- Wide range of administrative duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI)
