**Job Description**:
Primary responsibilities
- Provide direct tax support for all business initiatives, transactions, new product launches and commercial arrangements in APAC (excluding China)
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Tax department to ensure that all aspects of tax have been considered
- Establish strong relationships across the organization, demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills to build a collaborative environment and foster open communication
- Provide stakeholders with clear, consistent and comprehensive tax guidance in a timely manner
- Manage tax controversy matters in APAC (excluding China), including researching issues under audit and presenting options to senior members within the Tax department
- Oversee the coordination of the tax compliance process to ensure that tax compliance obligations across the region are met in a timely manner
- Develop, provide leadership and guidance to a small team
- Proactively keep abreast of tax policy changes in the region
- Develop a strong understanding of PayPal’s business and operating structure
- Proactively develop plans/strategies to mitigate tax risks and optimize opportunities in the region

**Qualifications**:

- 12+ years of relevant tax experience from working at public accounting firms and large multinational corporations. Corporate tax department experience required, financial services and/or technology industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of APAC income tax matters with a working knowledge of transfer pricing and indirect tax principles
- Excellent command of English, including written, oral and presentation skills as well as the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non-tax audiences
- A superior work ethic and dedication to the highest work quality and job excellence
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required, with the ability to plan and execute at strategic and tactical levels
- Self-motivated with strong project management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Critical thinker, with the ability to work across regions and functions in a fast-paced environment
- A good sense of humour
