Freight Supervisor

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist Manager to oversee the Freight team (e.g., Air Import, Air Export as well as Sea Freight) to meet both internal & external customer’s needs, achieve KPI & ensure the smooth running of daily operation. Lead by example.
- Ensures data/ inventory are input correctly. Performs physical checks when necessary.
- Focus on improvement for operations. Initiate continuous improvement related to workflow, cost saving or rationalization and develop resource plans within business activities Develop operational improvements based on performance measures.
- Ensure that the current practices comply with both customer and company’s procedural manual, specification, requirement, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Organize/implement improved processes, operations, and technology, in term of Freight planning methods e.g., plans and handling equipment.
- Ensure the information flow for Freight processes and standards according to Aviation’s Authority, Singapore’s Freight related protocols, regulations & authorities & so on to enhance standards, development as well as forecast of authority for the Freight industry/ activities.
- Assist to plan to optimize storage space for Freight limited warehouse storage capacity.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to implement processes and technology (if needed), and to assist the management on Freight operations/solutions.
- Review latest technology that can speed up the process increasing productivity for the Freight business, internal and external partners.
- Assist to review areas in operations where technology can enhance processes & minimize lengthy work processes.
- Responsible for all safety and security related measures and regulations. Ensure requirement/ regulations (e.g. Government Import & Export Regulations) are compiled accordingly.
- Ensure Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) solutioning discussions around suggestions to improve existing processes.
- Perform safety and health risk assessment and address WSH risks from assessment reports to determine hazards, coordinate corrective actions to address areas of non-conformance to WSH standards and review WSH reports to determine impact to work processes.
- Ensure to meet the objectives of the company’s operation with particular emphasis on maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain excellent customer relationships to achieve contract and business plan goals. Liaise with internal & external parties for all Operation’s matter.
- Maintain teamwork, staff discipline, morale, and departmental harmony. Motivate, develop, and direct team members at work and provide development opportunities to the team.
- Be conscious of costs/ overheads by gathering current and accurate cost driver & inputs to support cost model development.
- Adhere to corporate social responsibility policies for Freight operations. Implement advanced environmental protection policies and procedures (if necessary).
- Any other responsibilities assigned by Management.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of related working experience as a supervisor in Freight management.
- Recognized Degree/ Diploma preferably in Logistics/ Supply Chain/ Operations Management.
- Excellent analytical, people, problem solving, troubleshooting, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong decision making and leadership skills.
- Strong competencies in management of teams, in logistic flows, security and safety.
- Strong operational understanding and capability to manage changes and unexpected events. Working knowledge of performance/ operation metrics.
- Well verse with Singapore Government Import and Export regulations, multiple Competent Authorities as well as other regulatory/ statutory boards/ governmental bodies. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

- loaders, vendors as well as other business partners to optimize business. Proficient in English, knowledge of different languages would be an advantage to communicate more fluently.
