Executive (Biobank)

The Clinical Research & Innovation office (CRIO) supports Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s mission by developing TTSH into a dynamic research and innovation centre. It is equipped with skills and capability through her staff to promote and coordinate research activities, and effectively support the research enterprise of the Hospital.
- CRIO is looking for an Executive who is passionate in research to oversee the smooth running of our biobank facility that was established to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval clinical samples that supports a wide variety of research projects.
- In this role, you will be supporting the Head of department to drive, develop and manage the biobank governance strategy and operations. This includes:
- Establishing governance framework, guidelines and processes to support compliance towards Human Tissue Framework and utilisation of the biobank repository collection
- Executing strategic initiatives and programs to develop a tissue repository literate community
- Keeping abreast of the latest regulatory changes and updates, interpreting the impact, providing advice and secretarial support to the Institutional Tissue Banking Committee (ITBC) and management
- Setting up the business model, and ensure proper running of the biobank facility according to international/national/institutional standards and guidelines
- Planning and conducting monitoring of studies and tissue collection activities in accordance to the Human Tissue Framework, Human Biomedical Research Act, institutional guidelines and SOPs.

Competencies and Requirements for the role:
- Degree in relevant biomedical disciplines
- Knowledge of biological specimen management/ laboratory procedures and medical terminolog
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pay attention to details and problem-solve
- Keen interest or background in research governance, or setting up of workflows will be advantageous
