JOB SCOPE

Job Responsibilities

The BIM Manager / Senior BIM Manager is a professional responsible for the overall management of the project Building Information Model, and for directing a team of internal BIM members. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for managing, and serve as primary interface for, the Design Team members’ and Contractors’ relevant BIM specialists/coordinators/operators to ensure compliance with MBS requirements.
- Duties:
Pre-Design
- Develop, communicate, and maintain best practices for MBS Development & Project Management team regarding project BIM procedures and protocols.
- Serve as primary interface between, and liaise with, Lead Consultant and MBS Development & Project Management team to ensure project BIM Execution Plan (to be developed by the Lead Consultant) will deliver a design model that meets MBS requirements.
- Liaise with MBS Development & Project Management team and MBS Facilities team to establish, document, communicate, and implement BIM for Facilities Maintenance protocols and requirements.
- Liaise with MBS Development & Project Management planning team to establish, document, and communicate 4D BIM protocols and requirements as they relate to the project construction programme.
- Lead the effort of updating and preparing the relevant sections of the overall Project Management Manual, to be used as the basis for all internal team processes and procedures throughout the project.
- Provide oversight to team of BIM managers ensuring BIM protocols/conventions are aligned with the above referenced best practices and execution plan.

Consultant / Contractor Procurement and Change Management
- Assist MBS Procurement team by informing Requests for Tender with Main Contractor and Sub-Contractor obligations regarding the use of BIM for shop drawing production, field coordination, handover processes, and similar. Additionally, assist MBS Procurement team by evaluating and informing responses to technical Queries regarding BIM throughout the Tender and award process.
- Liaise with MBS Procurement and MBS Document Control in the effort of onboarding new consultants and contractors with regard to the above referenced BIM protocols and requirements.
- Serve as primary interface for Design Team members’ and Contractors’ relevant BIM specialists for resolving technical questions or concerns related to relevant sections of the above referenced BIM protocols and requirements.

Design and Documentation
- Oversee team of internal BIM Managers to support MBS Development & Project Management team by generating views / insights into the live federated BIM model and exporting data and content as required.
- Lead the effort of regularly interrogating/auditing the Design BIM model to ensure compliance with MBS requirements and the BIM Execution plan and liaising with the relevant Consultant’s BIM specialists to address issues or concerns.
- Liaise with the Design Team and MBS Development & Project Management team to develop procedures for accessing consultant cloud-based models, and maintaining an Owner controlled federated model representing all current formal submissions to MBS.
- Provide oversight to team of BIM managers to ensure design models issued by consultants and the associated Owner controlled content are current, accurate, and in alignment with MBS protocols.
- Develop and issue appropriate reporting of Design BIM model status in relation to the Design Schedule and BIM Execution Plan.
- Provide Support to the internal Design Team and Delivery Team in extracting and assembling 3D content as required for critical item review, executive presentation, and similar.

Construction / Construction Administration
- Liaise with MBS Delivery Team, Commercial Team, and Procurement Team to develop scope of service and assist in assembling / issuing documentation associated with competitive tenders for outside BIM Consultants, as required, to support delivery as-built models.
- Assume primary responsibility for managing above referenced BIM Consultant to ensure consistency with MBS requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate procedures whereby Design Model content can be provided to Contractors as needed. Conversely, do the same to ensure Contractor Model content can be relayed to the Design Team as appropriate.
- Establish with Main Contractors BIM procedures and protocols in relation to MBS requirements and oversee compliance.
- Liaise with MBS scheduling to ensure that all construction schedule updates are adequately captured in updates to the above referenced 4D Model.
- Develop project reporting relating to above referenced BIM procedures and protocols. Serve as primary interface for all relevant MBS parties for distribution of status reporting of the project federated BIM model.
