Overview / Responsibilities:
The WSHO shall report to the Project SSHE Manager and responsible for:
- Provide OH&S Framework, to the project team, particularly, the SSHE Manager and the Factory License Holder which would include Singapore legislative requirements, Singapore Standards (SS), Singapore Codes of Practice (CP), and any other information provided by regulatory bodies. The guidance shall include provision of any updates or changes to the Singapore OHS Framework.
- Recommend project team with reasonably practical measures to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person who is at work in the Project or may be affected by the activities therein.
- Where is not reasonably practicable to eliminate the risk referred above, to recommend the Project Team:
- Such reasonably practical measures to minimize the risk
- Recommend safety procedure to control the risk
- Assist in implementing the measures or safety procedures refereed in above as the case may be.
- Maintain the WOOD Reporting System (oneAIM) for the project
- Maintain the legal registers
- Provide a conduit for the approval of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) by EM Industrial Hygienist (IH). This would include maintaining the SDS Database
- Assist in the maintaining of the safety performance monitoring databases and provide feedback to the Site SSHE Manager
- Formalize emergency drills and monitor their execution in the field. This would include providing an WOOD focal point / liaison with the base-plant respective personnel (Shift Supervisor, Fire and Security Department) as well as the project medical personnel
- Arrange and participate in site SSHE Training activities as well as coordinate and / or conduct additional project specific employee SSHE training as identified through the project training matrix
- Conduct SSHE Contractor Audit as well as provide a contact point for the Factory License Audits
- Participate in the investigation of any incident / near miss, where appointed
- Advise supervisory staff and employees in the implementation of strategies to identify and control potential hazards
Skills / Qualifications:
- Diploma in any engineering discipline
- Valid MOM WSHO registration
- Possess at least 5 years working experience in HSSE
- Attended the WSH training
- Prior experience in oil and gas industry an advantage
- A self-driven and meticulous individual who has the strong ability to multi-task
- Possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and organization skills
- Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
- Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills
- Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win
- Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork
