Accountant

**Role Purpose**

This role would be supporting the Finance Manager and is responsible for the financial accounting and statutory reporting of Swire Bulk group of companies, subsidiaries, branches and joint ventures (“Group”).

**Role Accountabilities**

**Financial Accounting**
- Support timely closing of Group accounts and month end close activities, including (i) foreign exchange revaluation run and analysis (ii) preparation of hedge accounting entries with proper supporting documents (iii) monthly analysis of entities accounts (iv) intercompany balances reconciliation.
- Assist preparation of company and consolidated Group financial statements and annual reporting pack, including (i) preparation of the corporate finance entities pack (ii) reviewing the branch and subsidiaries entities pack submission, (iii) liaise with the external auditors, (iv) attend to queries raised.
- Ensure that all consolidation/elimination entries are documented with relevant supporting documents.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
- Actively engage other functional teams including operations, legal, claims and fleet to ensure timely closure and/or justification of outstanding balance sheet items.
- Preparation of intercompany transactions and reconciliation.
- Manage fixed asset process documentation and maintain fixed asset register.
- Manage and maintain lease asset schedule and ensure proper accounting in accordance with lease accounting standards.

**Compliance Reporting**
- Assist in compilation of information and timely submission of various tax returns including corporate tax, personal income tax, freight tax, bunker duties, withholding tax, GST and any other applicable tax reporting for entities within the Group.

**Company Secretary**
- Maintain Group of companies register via Blueprint system to ensure any change in company profile is updated (eg, change in address, new company set-up, company dissolved etc)
- Ensure register of Directors for Group of companies is updated (eg, resignation/ appointment of directors)
- Ensure annual returns are filed timely by the Company Secretary.
- Ensure branches, overseas Company Secretary are kept informed of any changes in company profile, directors etc
- Maintain Group organization chart.
- Ensure all relevant Directors’ Resolutions are signed and documented.
- Responsible for Corporate Statutory related matters and coordinate with external outsourced Corporate Secretarial for Statutory Filing.
- Act as point of contact for external
- notarization and legalization of documents.

**Process and others**
- Assist Manager to review, improve and implement streamlined work processes and internal controls.
- Support both internal and external audit requests.
- Any other tasks assigned.

**Safety**

**Key Qualifications & Skills**

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Accountancy or Qualified CA/ACCA
- At least 3 years of commercial accounting or audit experience

**Technical Skills**
- Good working knowledge of IFRS
- Bulk industry knowledge a bonus
- Good IT skills, proficient in Excel, SAP/IMOS/BPC and PowerBI knowledge would be advantage.
- Group consolidation experience
