Research Officer, a star Id Labs

A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for Research Officers to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response integrated with National PREPARE programme, to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
The laboratory is headed by Prof Lisa Ng, Executive director of A*STAR ID Labs and we are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join us. The selected applicant will play a key role in lab ops and also be provided with opportunities to engage in research projects led by senior members of the lab.
To understand strategies and mechanisms for host and pathogen survival in arboviral infections
To guide the development of targeted and effective control and treatment strategies
Work with patient cohorts and relevant models (both in vitro and in vivo) of acute and infectious disease
Design and conduct experiments including data collection and analysis
Develop new research techniques and approaches
Perform maintenance of inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables
Ensure safe technical practices and procedures
**Job Requirements**:
Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Neuroimmunology, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field
1 to 2 years of relevant experience
Experience with cell culture and organoid models, mouse models, animal studies, cell biology, flow cytometry, cellular and molecular techniques, microscopy, handling with BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens will be an asset
Strong background in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Team player with good interpersonal skills
Good spoken and written communication skills
