Queenstown, Singapore Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) Full time

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage research data and keep up-to-date research records, be able to perform data analyses and critically interpret generated data, and summarise research findings
- Search and sort out literature and database, identify key findings of previous research, and be able to paraphrase and consolidate key concepts of literature
- Conduct data collection independently (survey, classroom observation, FGD, interview, spoken and written language data)
- Process and generate descriptive data from surveys, classroom observation, FGDs, interviews and corpora independently
- Be able to construct teaching plans or test items independently
- Be able to design research tools for school-based project
- Project administration tasks such as scheduling and liaise with schools
- Be able to develop and maintain co-operative working relationships with Principal Investigator, colleagues and collaborators, be able to give feedback and share ideas or experience with others, and resolve problems in most situations
- Be able to report clearly on design and progress of research project
- Write research reports and papers, and be able to produce relevant write-ups for proposals under PI’s supervision

**Job Requirements**:

- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills and able to work independently within given deadlines
- Experience in working with teachers and students in Singapore schools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and project management skills
- Basic statistical knowledge and skills
- Good theoretical knowledge of research designs in general
- Good IT skills
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, to liaise with Chinese-speaking associates
- Basic knowledge in Chinese Linguistics and Language Teaching and Learning

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $3,500.00 per month
