ACADEMIC FACULTY APPOINTMENT: The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine

A Full Professor/Associate Professor of Digital Health Sciences (with tenure) at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is expected to contribute to the development of research and teaching at the School. He/she is expected to undertake high quality internationally leading research in Digital Health Sciences in line with the overarching research strategy of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, in addition to any other duties as assigned by the Vice Dean, Research and Dean.

Key Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

- The appointee will be expected to undertake high quality research in the area of Digital Health Sciences with a strong translational focus, in line with the research strategy of the School, obtain research funding and supervise research staff and students.
- The appointee is expected to provide leadership to the programme and to mentor junior faculty in the Digital Health Sciences programme.
- The appointee is expected to undertake teaching and educational responsibilities for the training of medical students and postgraduate research students in the areas of Digital Health Sciences. Teaching methods will include extensive use of team-based learning and e-learning.
- The appointee is expected to contribute to integration of the science relating to Digital Health Sciences into the curriculum and to ensure the delivery of excellence in these areas, including the team-based learning pedagogy of the school.
- The appointee will participate in and enhance the collegiate atmosphere in the School and the University and endeavour to enhance its external reputation.

Primary Activities:

- Seek competitive grant income and collaborative industry funding to develop a sustainable research programme.
- Enhance collaborations between clinicians in clinical institutions and researchers in NTU/LKCMedicine.
- Bridge different clinical areas and research domains for betterment of healthcare delivery in Digital Health Sciences.
- Contribute to, support and develop teaching and educational activity at undergraduate level and supervise undergraduate students.
- Contribute to, support and develop teaching and educational activity at graduate level and supervise graduate students.
- Develop and support research projects (including interdisciplinary) with other faculty in the area of Digital Health Sciences and in the Population and Global Health research programme at LKCMedicine and across the wider NTU community.
- Participate in academic committees and other administrative requirements as appropriate.

Person Specification
- Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:_
- MBBS/MD and/or PhD
- Significant experience and world-class track record in research with a high level of scientific achievement, productivity and impact in the field of Digital Health Sciences
- Proven track record in raising funds from government agencies and industrial partners
- Significant experience and outstanding track record in building up infrastructure and core facilities necessary to support research groups
- Experience and desire to participate in postgraduate and undergraduate education and training
- Management and Teamwork:_
- Ability to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work co-operatively with medical and non-medical staff
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior faculty members, research staff
- Communicating and Influencing:_

The level of effort for this appointment is at 1.0 full time equivalent (FTE) employment.
