**JOB DESCRIPTION - CHEF DE PARTIE**

**Summary / Objective**

The Chef de Partie assists the Outlet Chef to ensure food standards, food hygiene and safety standards are upheld by the team on each shift. This includes preparing, cooking and presenting dishes. He/She supervises and trains commis cooks working with him. He/She ensures high standards of food hygiene, and adheres to the rules of health and safety. He/She monitors portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.

His/her role also includes providing on-the-job training for staff, handling work-related problems and resolving them in a positive and professional way. He is also required to perform any administrative tasks as assigned to him by the Outlet Management.

**Supervisory Responsibility**

This position has some supervisory responsibilities in that he/she oversees the work of the Commis Cooks. Knowledge and skills need to be reinforced to subordinates through constant on-the-job training.

**Work Environment**

This job essentially operates within the outlet the person is assigned to work at. From time to time however, he/she will need to travel to sister outlets to render assistance if needed.

**Required Academic Qualifications & Experience**
- Min. ‘O’ Levels, with the ability to comprehend, write and communicate reasonably well.
- Prior experience is a requirement - a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience.
