Roles and Responsibilities:
Chartering:

- Arrange the rental of company-operated vessels and hire external vessels for the company’s own cargoes and programs.
- Calculate estimated costs for chartering in or out, such as Voyage Charter, COA, and TC.
- Prepare preliminary approval for chartering in or out for management.
- Create summaries for tender proposals regarding chartering in or out.
- Conduct negotiations, prepare summaries of agreements, and draft charter parties.
- Possess thorough knowledge of charter party clauses, terms, and their implications.
- Maintain, update, and manage a list of potential customers, brokers, and ship owners who may be interested in the company’s services.
- Regularly communicate with brokers, owners, charterers, and logistics service providers to understand market trends and competition.
- Stay informed about the latest charter agreements and market trends through various sources.
- Develop the market and manage customer relationships by networking with traders, cargo owners, and vessel owners.

Operation:

- Ensure the proper operation of controlled vessels during time charters or spot hires, adhering to global standards and international regulations.
- Plan voyages to comply with international regulations and charter party requirements.
- Address vessel issues, customer requests, and coordinate with terminals and agents.
- Communicate with charterers, brokers, agents, and vessels regarding voyage orders and itineraries.
- Optimize bunker fuel usage and route planning.
- Deploy vessels efficiently, improve operations, and optimize costs.
- Provide voyage instructions to vessels, review stowage plans, coordinate agency appointments, and monitor cargo operations at sea and in port.
- Monitor vessel performance, including speed and fuel consumption, during voyages.
- Handle questionnaires, certificates, letters of indemnity, letters of protest, and other relevant documents.
- Update company databases with required information on vessel and voyage performance.
- Assist in resolving ship chartering issues, such as disputes, claims, and calculations related to freight, demurrage, laytime, etc.
- Follow up on post-fixture activities.

Qualifications:

- Hold a Diploma in Maritime Studies or GCE “A” Levels.
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience, preferably as an operation/chartering executive for tanker vessels.
- Possess a good understanding of Charter Party terms.
- Knowledgeable in freight cost and charter hire calculations.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and a good understanding of market conditions.
- Exhibit effective planning and execution abilities in voyage operations.
- Familiar with the requirements of masters, agents, charterers, terminals, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to work irregular hours to ensure compliance with charter party requirements.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Responsible for data entry, proper filing, reporting, and organization of operation documents.
