Private Equity Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our single-family office as a Private Equity Associate. The Family Office Private Equity Role will involve managing and optimizing the family's private equity portfolio, sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting the overall investment strategy of the family office. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the principal family members, advisors, and investment professionals to drive value and achieve long-term investment objectives.

**Responsibilities**:
1. **Investment Analysis and Due Diligence**:

- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on potential private equity investments, including industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
- Evaluate investment opportunities by analysing financial statements, conducting company valuations, and assessing potential risks and returns.
- Perform due diligence on target companies, including reviewing legal documentation, conducting management interviews, and assessing operational and financial performance.

2. **Portfolio Management**:

- Monitor and manage the existing private equity portfolio, including tracking performance, evaluating liquidity events, and assessing portfolio risk.
- Prepare periodic investment reports and presentations for the family office stakeholders, providing updates on portfolio performance and investment recommendations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of investment strategies, asset allocation, and risk management frameworks.

3. **Deal Sourcing and Relationship Management**:

- Proactively source new investment opportunities in the private equity space through networking, industry conferences, and leveraging existing relationships.
- Build and maintain relationships with investment partners, fund managers, and industry professionals to enhance deal flow and stay abreast of market trends.
- Collaborate with external advisors, legal counsel, and consultants to facilitate efficient deal execution and maximize investment outcomes.

**4. Financial Modelling and Analysis**:

- Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment scenarios, analyse investment performance, and conduct sensitivity analysis.
- Perform financial forecasting and modelling to assess potential investment returns and evaluate risk-adjusted performance.
- Provide support in preparing investment memos, investment committee presentations, and other related documents.

**5. Continuous Learning and Industry Research**:

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in private equity investment.
- Conduct research and analysis on specific sectors or geographies to identify attractive investment opportunities and provide investment recommendations.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus but not required).
- Strong understanding of private equity investment principles, including due diligence, financial analysis, valuation techniques, and deal structuring.
- Proven experience in investment analysis and portfolio management, preferably within a private equity firm, investment bank, or family office (Min. 5 years experience)
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues across various functions.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, given the confidential nature of family office activities.
