Demolition Topman

**New Challenge - Demolition Topman / Operative**

**Van Vliet Asia Pte Ltd **are conducting a search for a **Demolition Topman / Operative **with extensive experience within the petrochemical, oil and gas sector to join our project team at Bukom Island.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring all work is undertaken in strict accordance with the Safe System of Work, Method Statement and Risk Assessment.
- Ensure that all permit requirements are met prior to the works commencing.
- Ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
- Ensuring (or having ensured) the proper functioning of the equipment to be deployed;
- Responsible for maintaining and defect reporting for operational plant and equipment.
- Responsible for segregation of waste materials including the separation of metallic grades of scrap metals i.e. light, heavy, ferrous & non-ferrous metals.
- Ensuring good communication with other operators and banksmen within the area.
- Proper operation and daily maintenance of the assigned equipment;
- Reports in case of unsafe situation, (near) accident, etc;
- Proper use and maintenance of tools, means of transport, machines, safety equipment and other devices;
- Attendance at daily briefings, HSE meetings and toolbox meetings.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in demolition, working within the petrochemical, oil and gas sectors.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in topman duties.
- Experience in demolition and dismantling of structures up the height of 150m.
- Experience in heavy lifting of structures including a good understanding of rigging and slinging techniques.
- Experience of pre-weakening of structures in preparation for controlled collapse and explosive demolition.
- Driving License
- Asbestos Awareness Training or similar (acting upon discovery of unexpected asbestos)
