**Reporting Time**

Monday to Friday (0730 hours to 1330 hours)

**Lesson Preparation**

1. Prepare materials for experiments for Primary 3, 4, 5 and 6 levels with accordance to Schedule of Work (SOW)* and afterschool programme (if necessary).

2. Prepare materials for experiment based on Science Level Representatives request(s) and in consultation with HOD Science / LH Science.

3. Procure materials for experiments at least one week in advance with approval from HOD Science / LH Science. Present receipt to HOD Science for reimbursement.

4. Confirm with Science Level Representatives on the accuracy of the materials that are prepared at least one week prior to the lesson.

5. Trial the experiment prior to the lesson if required.

6. Ensure that equipment which require charging/battery are ready before lesson.

**Lesson Support and Safety**

A Science Room Assistant supports the work of science teachers and their students to ensure that they:
1. make the best use of the time they spend in the laboratory

2. record the results of their work accurately

3. use equipment safely

4. understand all health and safety procedures and follow them

**Maintenance and Accounting**

1. Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the Science Rooms.

2. Maintain laboratory apparatus and equipment in good condition.

3. Maintain the Science Room Log and Breakage of Apparatus Book. Remind teacher/student leader to update the log after every lesson in the Science Room.

4. Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned/stored and chemicals are appropriately stored.

5. Catalogue and arrange equipment and apparatus for easy access.

6. Ensure that equipment which require charging/battery are kept appropriately with batteries removed.

7. Manage the inventory of chemicals and equipment to ensure availability.

8. Inform Science HOD/LH a list of resources that are running low and needs replenishing and informing the Science HOD/LH.

9. Assist the science department in stock-taking for the Science Rooms equipment at the end of the year (Oct/Nov).

10. Consolidate purchase of materials monthly for claims submission.

**Salary**: $1,200.00 - $1,300.00 per month
