JR38238 Intern - MFG Dry Etch

Location: F10

**Department: Fab 10 Manufacturing Dry Etch**

**Project Title: Cost Forecasting & Parts Spares Inventory System Improvement/Development**

**Description**:
Current system for forecasting spares cost usage and accrual is not robust enough to handle multiple input and output streams causing mismatches that result in accounting losses when discovered subsequently.

Physically, parts used for maintenance also do not have a functional, defined system in place to handle the highly dynamic movement of both parts and people in the fab.

These result in lost man-hours for locating parts or re-accounting for lost parts, as well as high idle inventory value. Both systems need improvement and even overhaul to ensure that end-to-end conditions (users: engineering, technicians, management, accounting; software; documentation; etc.) are accounted for.

**Aim of the project**:
Work with the equipment team to develop and sustainable system to track and maintain physical spare parts, creating procedures, documentation etc. as required.

To analyze historical spare parts usage data and identify opportunities to improve spare cost projections, including but not limited to daily spending trend, rebates, accrual and reversal as well as credit notes, resulting in spare parts costs projection variation to be within +/-1% against the budget, through pattern recognition, data analysis and deep understanding of Manufacturing operation and flow.

- Deliverable: Improved or newly developed system for spare parts tracking and management.
- Impact of Project: Productivity improvement, Cost savings, 6S (LEAN/TPM)

**Skillset Required**:

- Required Microsoft Office (for presentation).
- PowerAutomate/PowerApps experience would be ideal but not required (or any other script/automation, these two are integrated in Micron). Basic OJT provided.
- SQL/MS Access would be helpful but not required (or any other database software, MongoDB/Oracle) depending if the solution requires database setup. Basic OJT provided.
