Network Implementation Engineer

**Overview**:
**Responsibilities and duties **_(include but not limited to) _
- Design, deploy, and escalate problem resolution, for a large service provider network infrastructure.
- Perform daily checkouts of the environment and following any changes.
- Construct valid configurations for implementation based upon design and/or technical concepts.
- Support deployment and maintenance of network switches, routers, firewalls, and other network appliances
- Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes
- Perform peer review of configurations scheduled for deployment.
- Perform network infrastructure changes in a diligent and professional manner.
- Participate in on-call rotation for support escalations.
- Troubleshoot internal and external customer issues related to changes.
- Participate in daily meetings to review changes and under lying impacts.
- Work with network engineering team to design new client specific connectivity solutions. Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when required.
**Education, Skills and background **_(incl. Education and Experience Requirements) _
- Min 7 years' experience deploying and supporting network equipment in a service provider environment or a large-scale Enterprise network.
- Min 5 years' experience working on financial networks, ideally including exchange market data connectivity.
- Experience with Juniper, Arista, Fortinet and/or Cisco hardware and software
- CCNP/JNCIP - CCIE certified or equivalent level of knowledge
- Highly proficient in routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, ISIS, MPLS
- Advanced understanding of Multicast Routing (IGMP, PIM, MSDP)
- Expert level knowledge of TCP, UDP and upper layer protocols
- Experience with cross-connectivity to high-speed, ultra-low latency financial markets and venues
- Familiarity with Ansible, Linux, Bash and/or Python.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and effectively lead to system recovery.
- Clear verbal and written communicator
- Diligent and highly detail orientated.
- Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing and managing own workload.
- Capable of working with little supervision.
- Creative thinker with out of the box ideas
- Keen to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop.
- Interested in cutting edge technology.
- Driven to develop own skills and knowledge.
- Understanding of Change Management System and overall ticketing process like JIRA or other CRM
