We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Underwriter with focus on single-risk Power and Engineering business including Construction (loss control / engineering background seen as a plus) for our underwriting team in Singapore. You will be responsible for business development and underwriting of facultative and corporate Power, Engineering and Construction business for our SEA clients.

**Your Role**
- Underwriting facultative and corporate Power and Engineering business (including Construction) in South East Asia, including assessing the risks, evaluating and providing reinsurance terms and conditions in accordance with the applicable underwriting authority, underwriting guidelines, internal directives, targets and client strategies
- Develop and grow a sustainable book of business and exploiting new business potentials by interacting with clients and brokers, understanding their strategy and business needs for developing joint opportunities
- Develop innovative insurance solutions and products in addition to conventional covers in close co-operation with other business units
- Support our client management and our treaty underwriters on technical questions and business development and exploiting all synergies available with Munich Re worldwide
- Develop and execute risk-management concepts including joining risk inspections for target risks and supporting clients on risk assessment matters, if required
- Organize and conduct seminars / workshops for clients and internal staff, providing clients with value-added services
- Execute portfolio performance and market analysis
- Maintain and expand technical and market know-how

**Your Profile**
- Professional underwriting experience in the primary or reinsurance property insurance market for at least 10 years with a strong focus on Power, Engineering and Construction business segment in Asia
- Demonstrate proficient know how in these sectors, for example by having worked in the power and engineering segment, through Loss Control Engineering experience or by demonstrating that there is significant on-the-job underwriting experience in this field including site visits
- Desirable experience in Engineering and risk management / risk inspections
- Sound technical knowledge of the relevant underwriting processes including risk evaluation, pricing high level of competence in reviewing contract wording exercises for the power and engineering business segment
- A deal-making attitude with capabilities and passion to conduct and solicit business opportunities from clients and brokers
- Strong IT and analytical skills
- Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Possess good business insights and creativity
- Solution-oriented with a focused, proactive, efficient and independent working style
- Fluent business English (written and spoken) and another Asian language is preferred (written and spoken)
