**Position Summary**:
We are looking for an exceptional API Platform Engineering Leader to build, manage and develop a team of Backend Software Engineers working on Workato API Platform. You will also closely interact with Product Management and Infrastructure teams to establish and communicate long-term platform goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team of backend engineers working on Workato’s API platform
- Perform technical onboarding for new team members, perform knowledge transfer and training sessions for team members
- Work closely with product managers to establish API Platform roadmap
- Design and manage implementation of core API platform components including API gateway
- Review and provide technical feedback on API platform changes
- Identify performance and scalability bottlenecks, work with engineers and Infrastructure team to mitigate them
- Assist SREs in monitoring production system and diagnosing production issues
- Maintain automated testing environment and ensure completeness of test coverage
- Manage providing server side backend for Workato user interface.
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code.

**Requirements**:
**Technical Skills**:

- 10+ years of industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.
- Experience in implementing distributed queue/distributed storage system/load balancer.
- Proficiency in Go language.
- Experience with Redis/Memcache based caching.
- Experience in RDBMS engines(PostgreSQL).
- Experience in Ruby on Rails is a plus.
- Contributions to open source projects is a plus.
- Experience in building/deploying Kafka based systems is a plus.
