**UWCSEA Dover **is looking to hire a freelance Safety & Security Officer - Day shift to start during December 2024.

As a Safety & Security Officer, you will be deployed to a primary role and at times to support any specifically assigned secondary role which will be within the defined scopes of supporting the customer experience journey. College operates in terms and various breaks are excellent opportunities for cross training as well as supporting other sections of facilities and operations. You should remain open on such deployment. You will report to the Campus Safety and Security Executive and will work up to 5 days a week in a flexible shift.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Incident response to more complex and large-scale safety and security incidents
- Manage security and safety systems (eg. Central alarm system, Fire alarm system, Lift control system, car park system, card access system)
- Regulating traffic
- Monitor CCTV/ Central Alarm Monitoring/ Fire Command Centre monitoring
- Maintain CCTV storage libraries
- Report all unusual incidents, take quick and appropriate actions to ensure the security and safety of the campus and their visitors and staff
- Ensure proper documentation and records maintenance (service and attendance sheets, incident occurrence reports, staff training records, procurement related records)
- Monitor all unauthorised vandalism and removal of property, review and report accidents that happened
- Inspect all areas for safety and fire hazard; and file reports on safety precautions.
- Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.

**Person Specifications**
- Primary/Secondary School/"O" Level, Higher secondary/Pre-U/A level/College, Professional Certificate/NiTEC, any field.
- Possess a valid Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD) Security Licence is preferred
- Must have passed or be exempted from the required Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) module under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) framework
- 2 years related security experience required.
- Knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised and meticulous.
- Pro-active and independent.
- Considerate and professional in all communications and adaptable to change.
