**ENGIE Lab Singapore **is the research centre of ENGIE for Asia-Pacific. ENGIE Lab Singapore brings the technical expertise of ENGIE Research in APAC by developing local expertise and allowing access in the region to all the technical expertise developed by ENGIE Research in Europe. Bridging the gap between ENGIE Research and business units, ENGIE Lab Singapore plays a key coordinator/local technical support role in balancing the R&D effort and the business needs for the Group.

Based in Singapore since 2015, ENGIE Lab Singapore addresses 3 technological areas: Green Data Centres, Sustainable Cooling and Local Energy Communities including the REIDS-SPORE multifluid multi-thematic platform.

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**:
ENGIE Lab Singapore is looking for a driven and experienced mechanical, electrical engineer or chemical engineer with a passion for the energy transition to contribute to the various research projects and expertise services under on one or multiple technological areas that the Lab addresses: Green Data Centres, Low Carbon Cooling, Integration of Low Carbon Solutions, Energy Management System and Micro/Smart Grid. The role will encompass research, innovation and development with a strong focus on communication and collaboration with internal and group-level colleagues as well as external interfaces with industry bodies as well as clients.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participate in the proposal, planning and performance of research projects on one or more of the technological areas which ENGIE Lab Singapore addresses;
- Undertake modelling, benchmarking, techno-economic analyses and testing of new technologies to demonstrate their viability for adoption;
- Perform techno-watch to identify innovations and new and emerging technologies and implement them into concept designs, where applicable.
- Support in the delivery of in-house tools for the adoption of new technologies and design solutions;
- Work with equipment suppliers to ascertain the viability of new solutions;
- Interact with European experts of different disciplines to support local research and other works;
- Support technically the engagement with local business entities within the group on their commercial projects and present solutions to external clients, as needed;
- Generate whitepapers, webinars and journal articles;
- Guide and lead junior engineers and interns to conduct research under the program, ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- You have a Master’s or Ph.D. in an appropriate engineering discipline;
- You have worked in energy-related research/ design activities for 3-5 years;
- You have strong knowledge of the energy industry with expertise in one or more segments along the energy value chain;
- Knowledge in modelling software and programming skills are added advantage;
- Knowledge on emerging / innovative and decarbonized solutions are an added advantage.

- Resourceful, positive and solution-oriented attitude with problem solving skills and a ‘can-do’ approach;
- Excellent level of spoken and written English with strong presentation skills;
- Ownership for the delivery of a quality product and to work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Adaptable and able to support a wide spectrum of topics/activities as necessary;
- Ability to see the bigger picture and provide the vision for what is possible;
- Open and passionate about new technologies and innovations in energy sector;
- Excellent team player with good interpersonal to function effectively in a multi-cultural environment;
- Organised, high attention to detail and accuracy;
- Able to handle multiple assignments without losing oversight in a timely manner.
