Context:
In the current state, the Direct Numeric Control (DNC) program is created manually with the aid of a Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. This is enabled by 3D engineering models that are designed by our Technology counterparts, where the Numeric Control (NC) Programmers will have it run through the CAM software, Unigraphics NX.
During the run-through, the NC Programmer will perform a series of manual steps, such as the selection of cutting tools, and the plotting of the cutting toolpath
Problem Statement:
The project will seek to tackle the following:
As the Manufacturing model is of multiple variations, this creates an inevitable result of discrepancies in cutting methods, and subsequently a potential Non-Value usage in additional toolings, thereby resulting in unnecessary expenses and inventory.
