DESIGNATION : Principal Physiotherapist

RESPONSIBILITIES

A Principal Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist manages clients in her/his specialty and guidesstaff to be competent in their designated clinical specialty areas. S/He guides PT/ OT and TAs inthe department. S/He provides in-depth knowledge about Occupational therapy/ Physiotherapytreatment and interventions. S/He is responsible for leading the development of new clinicalservices and quality improvement projects in the department.S/He should be insightful, decisive and confident. S/He should possess effective interpersonal,communication and team building skills.

a) Clinical Roles
- Conduct Occupational therapy/ Physiotherapy assessment, planning of treatment and evaluation of treatment to facilitate and optimize patients in their recovery process, provide progress reports
- Participate in the development and review of service and professional standards
- Develop new service delivery models in keeping with current evidence-based practice
- Act as a source of highly specialized advice to other professional colleagues within ECONHealthcare Group
- Lead the implementation of new and/or updated assessment/ treatment based on current evidence
- Evaluate, recommend and implement new assistive devices, equipment, technology and interventions based on research findings

b) Resource Management
- Develop reports for the Rehab manager and/or Head of Department
- Conduct staff development and performance review
- Develop an annual learning and development plan for OT/PT and therapy assistants
- Implements professional training and development framework for all OT/PT and therapy assistants.
- Supervise staff who are conditionally registered under AHPC
- Evaluation services provided through audits and research

c) Supervisory Role
- Provide supervision, guidance and mentoring for OT/ PT and/or Therapy Assistant in assessment, treatment and/or evaluation of treatment plans
- Provide leadership and oversee the management of OT/PT staff

d) Clinical Quality and Safety
- Lead Quality Improvement projects in the centre/ nursing home or within the department.
- Responsible for the safety standards for the department
- Monitor compliance to Quality standard in accordance to MOH’s, AHPC’s and other relevantprofessional standards and guidelines
- Responsible for all internal and external safety and clinical audits for the department
- Participate in activities that contribute towards the quality of patient care and engage in promotional activities to generate business growth
- Perform regular documentation audits and skill competency assessments for junior/senior Therapists and/or Therapy assistants
- Provide leadership in responding to incidence in compliance with established incident reporting guidelines

e) Feedback Management
- Assist in any investigation pertaining to complaints received
- Escalate any unfavorable and unresolved feedback to HQ

f) Other Duties
- Assume any other additional responsibilities as assigned by HOD and Manager, Rehab
- Maintain good communication skills with residents and sponsors

**Requirements**:

- Hold a recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy or passed the Qualifying Exam in Singapore
- Full registration with AHPC.Having working experience in a healthcare setting will be an added advantage
- Applicants must be willing to travel across Singapore
- Possess patient-centric, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess leadership skills
- Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and cultures,maintaining a high level of quality service
- Ability to work effectively in team environment
- Self-motivated to keep up-to-date with advances in the field of Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy
