We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Data Governance Manager **.

Principal Responsibilities

HSBC Data & Analytics Office (DAO) promotes a data-driven culture across HSBC through our strategy of:

- Protect: To protect our data we need robust policies for data management and enhanced governance e.g., data that is consumed from a trusted source, meets quality standards, and complies with regulatory obligations
- Connect: Move to a data-led culture through enhanced training including on the job opportunities. Our talent is the glue between protecting our data and unlocking value for our customers
- Unlock. Value is unlocked when we deliver on the opportunities our well-managed data presents e.g., improving customer / colleague experience, increasing revenue, commercialising our data, optimising capital, enhancing risk management or reducing costs

The Data Governance Manager primarily supports the Protect and Connect pillars of the strategy.

Key priorities include:

- Lead and drive collaboration across HSBC to ensure data governance policies and practices are embedded throughout the country
- Develop teams across HSBC to ensure data governance policies and practices are embedded throughout the country
- Support DAO in engaging with regulators and the industry to promote collaboration on Data Management & Data Governance
- Provide oversight and guidance for timely review and escalation of data control enhancements
- Manage the delivery of the data governance programme
- Support project planning and management to ensure best practice and legal frameworks are followed with regards to data governance
- Work in partnership with the region and group in driving strategic data and analytics initiatives within the country

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a major organization, with large-scale data and project management and oversight experience
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data management practices
- Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
- Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Ability to maintain composure and drive right outcomes under high profile business scrutiny, incorporating change management
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
- Excellent planning, organising and commercial skills including strong financial management capability with tenacity to drive through results
- Strong relationship management capabilities, with great influencing skills and gravitas
- Highly effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and self-managed. Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy combined with a decisive collaborative nature
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and build relationship with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Operates well across cultures and in multicultural diverse work environments
